Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education is among the pioneer Departments established along with the Department of Science and Technical Education since the inception of the University in 2012 and they were domiciled in the Faculty of Education. The department is the largest Department in the University with over three thousand (3000) undergraduate students, twenty eight (28) academic staff and offers six (6) different Degree programs; (i) B.A. (Ed) Arabic, (ii) B.A. (Ed) English, (iii) B.A. (Ed) Islamic Studies, (iv) B.A. (Ed) History, (v) B.Sc. (Ed) Economics, and (vi) B.Sc. (Ed) Geography. Presently, the department is headed by Dr. Rabiu Garba Idris, before him, three persons headed the Department at different times, Prof. Aliyu Musa (2013-2015), Dr. Abdulhadi Elnagar (2015-2017) and Dr. Hadiza Hafiz (2017-2021).
