Science Education

The Department of Science Education is one of the six Departments in the Faculty of Education of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano. The Department was established at the inception of the University and it is specialised in providing science education training.

Mission

Developing pre-service teachers with knowledge and skills required to become qualified teachers in science education.

Vision

To prepare highly competent teachers who can make a professional difference and promote the quality of teaching and learning of science education in Northwest zone, Nigeria and the world in general.

Philosophy behind the programmes

The programmes were made to produce sound professional and competent teachers in various disciplines who can relentlessly contribute their quota in issues of national Educational importance as well as community service delivery.
