Prof. Garba has been teaching Management and Entrepreneurship courses and conduct research in the same area. He had been a visiting lecturer at the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil, Federal University Kashere, Gombe State and part time lecturer at Kaduna State University for various postgraduate programmes. He has been supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students’ projects. He has several articles to his credit which were published in both local and foreign reputable journals, and co-edited and published two books. He has attended various academic and professional conferences in both Nigeria and overseas. He serves on Editorial Board of some reputable journals such as International Journal of Sustainable Development and World Policy, European Journal of Management Sciences, International Journal of Public Policy and Administration Research, Nigerian Journal of Business and Entrepreneurial Development, Northwest Journal of Social and Management Sciences, Northwest Multi-disciplinary Journal.
Prof. Garba has been delivering lectures on entrepreneurship and management issues at various fora and engages in various community activities. Among others, he was recently involved in Governance Committee for Annoba Project on the Challenges of COVID 19 in Kano and Jigawa State under the auspices of Kano-Jigawa Professionals Forum. He is also serving member of Education Committee of Muryar Alummar Nassarawa charged with the responsibility of Developing a Strategic Plan on Education for the Association.
Garba engages in consultancy services, He is one of the consulting partners at Overone Consult and Investment Limited and Principal Consultant at Whitepen Consulting Limited. Between 2017 and 2019, he served as one of the Independent consultants monitoring GEM project funded by World Bank which was implemented by Federal Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism. He is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and an Accreditor of Higher Institutions and programmes (Management Science and Entrepreneurship) certified by the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi-Africa) and African Quality Assurance Network (AfriQAN)
Similarly, he belongs to various professional bodies such as The Academy of Management of Nigeria, a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultant, Nigeria, member of the Chartered Institute of Global Communication and Diplomacy and the Nigerian Institute of Management where he is serving as Council member, Northwest Zonal Chairman and member of Board of Examiners. He loves reading, watching football and playing golf. He is happily married to Nafisatu Muhammad Kabir and Blessed with Six children.
